The HSMAI Adrian Awards
For 64 years the Adrian Awards have spotlighted excellence in hospitality advertising, digital marketing, and public relations.
Marketing has been at the forefront of leading the recovery of travel as leisure and business travelers moved from reluctance to excitement to get back on the road. This year’s competition will focus on capturing the great work done by hotels, destinations and their agency partners to get the country moving again, showcase safety and security, and welcome those travelling for the first time in more than a year.
The Adrian Awards will gather and share best practices in marketing and technology, as well as celebrating individuals who have championed the recovery.
The 2021 Competition will open October 1 and close Dec. 20.
2021 Focus Categories:
- Recovery Marketing – Brand positioning/motivational messaging that made the travelling public know that the hotels and destination were open for business and ready to safely welcome guests for business and leisure.
- Recovery Campaign Evolution – Campaigns entered in the 2020 competition will be eligible again if the new entry shows how the campaign evolved as the industry moved into recovery and conditions changed.
- Technology Innovation – In cooperation with HFTP, this category will honor innovations in sales, marketing & guest satisfaction, and revenue optimization technology and platforms that are powering the recovery.
- Corporate Social Responsibility – Being a good member of your community has never been more important. This category will honor how brands, properties and destinations supported people and communities impacted by the pandemic into their recovery efforts.
Hospitality Recovery Heroes
Given the unique current landscape of hospitality and travel and the emergence of extraordinary leaders, HSMAI created a new recognition program in 2020 “HSMAI Hospitality Heroes: An Adrian Awards Honor.” Carrying on the mission of those honors, the 2021 Hospitality Recovery Heroes will honor the individuals behind the recovery at the local level, championing destinations, hotels, safety measures, and charitable programs.
